JOB SUMMARY Performs aides# duties of personal care and palliative care, which might be given to convalescent, chronically ill, disabled, or terminally ill persons in their homes.
Attempts in every possible way, in working with individuals and families, to assist them to assume responsibilities toward self-care.
Helps the well family members to carry their share of the responsibilities and encourages the disabled member or terminally ill member to participate in the life of the family.
Reports changes in the patient#s medical, nursing, rehabilitative, and social needs to a registered nurse.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES Performs duties as assigned including baths, oral hygiene, nail care, foot care, skin care, pressure relief, dressing patient, feeding and transferring patient.
Takes accurate vital signs.
Demonstrates the ability to use techniques to assist the patient in activities of daily living.
Notifies appropriate licensed personnel when patient complains of pain.
Completes assignments accurately and on time.
Participates in continuous quality improvement and performance improvement activities as assigned.
Represents the organization in a positive and professional manner.
Positions patient in bed with proper body alignment.
Assists patient with ambulation as necessary.
Performs all aspects of patient care in an environment that optimizes patient safety and reduces the likelihood of medical/health care errors.
Demonstrates knowledge of OSHA regulations.
Complies with Blood borne Pathogen, TB exposure control plans and Hazardous Waste Management Program.
Identifies and communicates findings to RN including changes in pain and symptoms or client condition.
Demonstrates the ability to chart according to professional and department standards.
Demonstrates ability to be flexible, organized, and functions well under stressful situations.
Works as part of the interdisciplinary team.
Demonstrates adherence to infection control policies, Uses PPE.
Addresses and supports cultural practices, as long as such practices do not harm others.
Assumes role of patient advocate.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS Education / Experience / License and Certifications Holds current Wyoming certification as a Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA).
High school diploma or general equivalency diploma (GED) required.
Current BLS certification, required.
Minimum of 1 year of CNA experience, preferred.
Continuing Education per regulatory requirements.
Completion of a Certified Home Health Aide course within orientation period.
Hospice Training obtained by:
Completion of Hospice Training through In-services within orientation period.
Completion of Hospice Training through volunteer training program within orientation period.
On-the-job instruction relative to specific patient needs and continuing in-service training, so that patient safety may be assured and the personal care and homemaking needs of the patient are adequately met.
Valid state driver#s license and reliable automobile, current automobile insurance and be willing to operate personal car necessitated by nature of job.
Criminal and Central Registry Background Checks Required.
Department Specific Education / Experience / License and Certifications Valid, unexpired Driver#s License, required.
Current Motor Vehicle Record (MVR) meeting the acceptable guidelines as outlined in the Drive Safe Policy, upon hire and continued throughout duration of employment in any position that requires driving, required.
Proof of current motor vehicle insurance, required.
Must have a vehicle in good working order.
# ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS Emotional and mental maturity.
Ability to read and communicate effectively in English.

Don't Be Fooled

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
