Job Summary Responsible for planning, organizing and directing the overall operation of the Imaging Services Department.
Ensures compliance with patient care quality standards as it relates to the care provided to all age groups of patients ranging from newborn to elderly.
Maintains performance improvement activities within the department and participates in CQI activities.
Assures competency of all personnel.
Assists in formulating the budget.
Maintains efficient and effective department operation while requiring compliance with all JCAHO, state, federal and local regulatory laws, standards and protocols.
Essential Functions Works with Hospital administration on planning, organizing and directing Imaging Services operations and ensuring compliance with all local, state and federal regulations.
Makes daily rounds in Imaging Services to judge effectiveness of operation, utilization of personnel and supplies, and general ethical and professional atmosphere.
Secures and maintains the physical facilities, equipment and supplies which are required to carry out effective patient care and create an optimum physical environment.
Carries on continuous analysis, evaluation and audit of Imaging Services.
Initiates and actuates improved methods of imaging services and directs their implementation.
Prepares department budgets for personnel, operating expenses and capital equipment.
Responsible for fiscal operation of the department.
Communicates appropriately and clearly to physicians, staff and administration.
Interacts professionally with patient/family.
Consults other departments, as appropriate, to collaborate in patient care and performance improvement activities.
Performs all aspects of patient care in an environment that optimizes patient safety and reduces the likelihood of medical/health care errors.
Ensures that the staff technologists are competent perform independent fluoroscopic examinations.
Delegates authority and responsibility to the Imaging Services personnel.
Establishes and maintains standards of performance.
Directs and participates in the human resource management function for the department by coordinating the selection, promotion, orientation and performance appraisal processes.
Coordinates the department#s in-service training.
Promotes effective intradepartmental and interdepartmental relationships.
Initiates, interprets and enforces Imaging Services procedures and maintains and interprets hospital policies and procedures.
Cooperates in planning programs and safety and preparedness for fire and disaster.
Attends and participates on hospital committees, as appropriate.
Is responsible for the implementation, monitoring and evaluation of performance improvement and PI activities.
Provides staff education with an emphasis on the organizational performance quality improvement program.
Ensures that there is adequate storage for supplies and equipment.
Supplies shall be stored in the Imaging Services area.
Barium and contrast materials and the like are properly stored in the cabinets.
Promotes and advances Hospital-community relationships and participates in community affairs.
Ensures preventive maintenance of equipment.
Provides care appropriate to the condition and age of the patient, including pediatric, geriatric and general population.
Participates in strategic planning and PI activities.
Ensures that all rules and regulations are observed by employees, to include overall corporate compliance and compliance with JCAHO standards.
Ensures that proper documentation is completed to meet all CMS regulatory requirements.
Keeping employees informed about their work assignments, work progress, and opportunities for advancement.
Evaluating the performance of introductory or probationary employees, regular employees, and employees who are being considered for termination.
Timely performance evaluations are conducted with all employees according to hospital policy.
There is a mechanism for the ongoing review of departmental policies and procedures that meets the JCAHO standards.
Departments are represented in at least one organizational Performance Improvement activity per year.
Managers attend a minimum of 75% of Department Head meetings per year.

# POSITION QUALIFICATIONS Education / Experience / License and Certifications Minimum of 3 years supervisory experience, preferred.
# Minimum of 3 years of related experience, preferred.
Graduation from an AMA approved school of Radiologic Technology.
# Registered with the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists.
Wyoming Radiologic Technologist license, required.
# BLS certification, required.
Some background in Imaging Services administration; experience such as Supervisor or Assistant Manager of an Imaging Services department.
At least five (5) active years in a department with diagnostic and special procedures experience.
Current membership and active participation in the Radiologic Technologist professional organization.
Additional Skills Basic computer knowledge.
Proficient in the use of Lean management practices.
Excellent written and verbal communication; proficient use of the English language.

The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
